It is common knowledge that Brazil has also many other kinds of music to offer than only the carnaval sambas or the bossa novas. Besides the unbelievable richness of it’s traditional music, this country also gave birth to exceptional artists as Caito Marcondes. Being a percussionist and a composer, he wrote music for the unusual setting of a trombone, a string quartet and his own percussion. His music is inspired by aswell contemporary music as deep brasilian tradition, partially well structured, partly improvised. Sensuality and lyricism mix with passionate and sparkling rhythms in always contrasting moods. Improvisation, being an important part of the whole, converts every concert of Caito Marcondes & Passarim in a unique experience.
This project has been created in Belgium and needed musicians being familiar with jazz, latin american, classical and contemporary music.
